The recent reveal of the stunning first trailer for the movie adaptation of classic children’s book The Little Prince reminded us… our friends over at FSG Books For Younger Readers recently showed us a bunch of great pages and sketches from The Pilot and the Little Prince, an illustrated biography of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the French author of The Little Prince, that came out this past summer.

And here are author and illustrator Peter Sis’ sketches, which eventually formed those final pages. Even as sketches, it’s clear how evocative Sis’ illustrations are in depicting the life of the Little Prince author, both as an homage to Saint-Exupéry and a continuation of his work.
